Senior Data engineer – EV
Arnhem, Gelderland | €80,000 - €90000 | Permanent
Senior Data Engineer
I’ll caveat this one because I think the title undersells it; I’m looking for the future domain lead
If you’re looking for a role where you inherit a mature data function with everything nicely organised already, this probably isn’t for you.
This business has grown quickly. Really quickly. Data has reached the point where it’s becoming its own function rather than something that sits off to the side of Operations, and they’re looking for someone who wants to own that journey.
Not management on day one.
Ownership.
The company sits right in the middle of the European EV ecosystem. Their platform connects vehicles, charging infrastructure, payment systems, fleet operators and energy providers. Every day they’re processing huge amounts of operational data that feeds everything from billing and reporting through to fraud detection, commercial insight and product decision-making.
It’s making sense of lots of moving parts and building a data platform the business can genuinely rely on as it continues to scale.
They’re looking for someone who’s comfortable building pipelines, designing sensible data models and bringing together information from multiple systems. Azure is the environment, Power BI is used heavily, and a bit of .NET experience wouldn’t hurt, but they’re far more interested in how you think than whether you’ve used one specific tool.
The long-term opportunity is the interesting bit. Today you’ll be the senior engineer.
As the business continues to grow, you’ll almost certainly become the person shaping how the data function develops from here.
For the right person, it’s a chance to get in before the org chart catches up, I think.
What they’re hoping you’ll bring;
This isn’t about collecting technologies for the sake of it, but you’ll probably have spent the last few years working with a modern Azure data platform and be comfortable owning it.
Ideally you’ll have experience with:
- Azure’s modern data stack (Data Factory, Synapse, Fabric or similar).
- Strong SQL—you’ll use it every day.
- Building and maintaining ETL / ELT pipelines.
- Data modelling and warehousing.
- Power BI or another reporting platform that people actually rely on.
- Git, CI/CD and modern engineering practices.
- Exposure to APIs or .NET integrations would be a nice bonus, but it’s by no means essential.
More importantly, they’re looking for someone who’s built data platforms rather than simply maintained them.
Someone who enjoys bringing order to complexity, making architectural decisions without overengineering, and building something the wider business trusts.
What you’ll get
- Salary up to €90,000k,
- 2 days in the office / Super flexible
- €2,000 L&D budget
- Pension and standard Dutch benefits.
- Work from abroad policy for a couple a weeks of the year
- A genuinely low-bureaucracy environment where decisions get made quickly.
More than anything though, you’ll get ownership.
You’ll join at the point where data is becoming one of the company’s biggest strategic investments. Today you’ll help shape the platform. Tomorrow you’ll help shape the function.
If you’ve been waiting for the opportunity to build something instead of simply inheriting it, this is a gooden.
