There’s a lot happening behind this frontend.

Live data from physical infrastructure, transactions, pricing, energy and third-party systems all eventually need to become something simple and intuitive for the person using it.

That’s the challenge.

I’m hiring two Senior Frontend Engineers for a Dutch product company working across software, mobility and energy.

The product has grown quickly, and so has the frontend. What started as a tool primarily designed to manage the data underneath it is becoming a much more intuitive, guided product.

They’ve recently built their own design system and internal component library, and now comes the interesting bit: bringing the existing platform across without simply giving it a new coat of paint.

There are workflows to rethink, UX to improve and plenty of complexity to simplify.

If a user asks you to expose another piece of data because they need it to complete their job, they don’t necessarily want you to build it.

They want you to ask why they need it.

Because the better solution might be fixing the workflow that forced them to ask in the first place.

That’s the sort of frontend engineer I’m looking for.

You’ll work closely with Product and Design, while having plenty of influence over frontend architecture, testing, state management, technical debt and how the applications continue to evolve.

The core environment is Angular, TypeScript, RxJS, Signals, Nx, Playwright and Vitest/Jest.

You don’t need every box ticked, and I’m not particularly interested in whether you’ve got 7 years of Angular or 11.

I’m interested in what you’ve done with it.

What have you introduced, changed or modernised that genuinely made your team’s frontend better?

Strong fundamentals matter here. You should be able to get into an unfamiliar codebase, understand the data flow and state, spot when something isn’t right and have the confidence to challenge it.

AI is becoming part of how the team builds software too. They’re embracing it, but not at the expense of understanding what’s happening underneath.

You don’t need experience in mobility or energy.

You do need to be a genuinely good frontend engineer who cares about the product as much as the code.
