Senior Java Engineer | Cybersecurity | Amsterdam (Hybrid)
Amsterdam | 90k - 110k | Permanent
Salary: €90k–€110k
I’m working with a cybersecurity scale-up in the financial domain. The backend platform processes large volumes of sensitive data and runs continuously, so engineering quality, stability and scalability matter.
Off the back of a new strategic partnership in the financial services space, the platform is scaling up, with 2026 shaping up to be a busy year from an engineering point of view.
They’re hiring a Senior Java Engineer to work on the core backend services as the platform continues to evolve.
The work:
- Building and maintaining backend services in Java (Spring Boot)
- Working with event-driven systems and asynchronous processing
- Designing APIs used across the platform
- Improving performance, reliability and observability of services
- Working closely with product, data and infrastructure teams
The tooling/stack:
- Java, Spring Boot
- Event-driven architecture (Kafka-style systems)
- PostgreSQL
- Cloud environment
- Docker
- CI/CD pipelines
- Monitoring and logging as first-class concerns
What they’re after:
- Strong backend experience with Java
- Experience building and running distributed systems
- Comfortable working close to production
- Pragmatic, detail-oriented approach
The salary sits at €90k–€110k, with 25 holidays and 8% holiday pay included. The setup is hybrid, hours are flexible. Most importantly, you’re joining at a point where the platform is scaling, the work is getting more interesting, and 2026 is shaping up to be a big year from an engineering point of view.
We’re heading into the holidays now, so replies may be delayed by excessive food, too much alcohol, and poor self-control.
